For many of us, our young children helped us rediscover the simple joys of daily living. From squealing at poop shaped clouds, to insisting that Sam the Snail wants to go along to school too, the world seemed filled with beautiful surprises and new ideas, everyday. For them, each day was a blank canvas; a wide, open expanse of nothing on which to begin to play.
As moms, we have a never ending list of to-dos and responsibilities. Is it practically possible to look at each day as a new day?
You are more than your day
Our tasks rush into our minds from the time we wake up, and sometimes they remain unfinished when we crash into bed at night.
At MAMMA-MIYA, we understand the struggle that moms face while balancing their many hats.
We know that world over, moms are frustrated by the constant demands of their time by others, leaving them with barely any time or energy for themselves. As moms ourselves, we are looking for a balance between work, home and life too, and sometimes, our days also feel little more than a never ending to-do list. But they need not define us.
Similarly, even with the demands of the day and of the people around us, we can find slices of time to put ourselves first. Instead of rushing against the day to make the most of it, if we accept its pushes and pulls instead, like the waves that roll onto a beach, time might go easier on us.
MAMMA-MIYA can help you organize your day better than anyone else
The MAMMA-MIYA app has features that reflect the unique reality of mom life. Here’s how:
-
To help you break down your load into smaller, manageable parts and manage them better, each day is broken down into 5 parts:
-
You can tag every task, event and routine with a hat in the MAMMA-MIYA app.
Marking everything with you with a hat will help you view, reflect and then plan how to spend your time and energy across the roles you play.
-
You can see your calendar through different views. My Day will show you all your tasks, routines and events with the time of the day as a separate section. Tasks are jobs that are marked for one of the 5 parts of the day, and events are time bound.
-
The home page has snapshots of how busy you are at different times of the day, and how much time you’re spending on each of your hats.
Incomplete tasks are automatically moved to the next day, because we understand that mom life can be chaotic and unpredictable.
Like each day for a curious toddler, a new day is your canvas. It’s not blank, but it still holds possibilities that you can discover.
Tomorrow is a new day
Each day can be an opportunity for you to do something you have been wanting to do, whether it is prioritizing your tasks, lightening your mental load in the Brain Dump or making time for one of the hats with a routine.
Every time you try a new approach to your day, you get closer to the balance that you’re looking for.
Does work swallow up your day? If you don’t have meetings or deadlines as soon as you get into the office, maybe you can take 5 minutes to breathe deeply before starting your day. Or you could take a 10-minute walk after lunch, to get some sun or some fresh air.
If you crave time on weekends but the kids have to be taken to games or play dates, see if you can delegate it to your village for one weekend, or pool resources with another family.
